BRIEF INTRODUTION

Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital is located in Guangdong Province, in the south of China. It is a modern and specialized cancer center that is recognized for its minimally invasive therapies, and innovative treatments that provide a strong alternative to the routine treatment of chemo/radiation/surgery.
The honorary president of the hospital is Professor Cao ZeYi, formerly China’s assistant national health minister, and is a highly acclaimed cancer specialist. He is also the deputy president of the Chinese Medicine Association and an executive committee member of the professional committee of China Anti-Cancer Association. The president of the hospital is Professor Xu KeCheng, a well-known and highly respected specialist of oncology and gastroenterology.
Our hospital focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers of the liver, lung, breast, nasopharyngeal, colorectal, uterus, stomach, esophageal, pancreatic, tongue, prostate, skin, larynx, lymphoma, and many others. Besides the conventional treatments for cancer via surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy; the hospital has brought together innovative and proven new technologies such as cryosurgery with an “argon-helium knife”, photodynamic therapy, 125Iodine seed knife therapy, photon knife therapy, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and biological immunotherapy (cytokine induced killer cells, dendritic cell vaccine). Particularly in the field of cancer cryosurgery in China, our hospital is the leading center in terms of technology and number of cases treated. As of mid-2008, our hospital has performed more than 4,000 argon-helium knife cryosurgeries to remove cancer. This is a world record that has received praise from Dr. Franco Lugnani, the president of International Society of Cryosurgery. The key to the ultimate success of a treatment of cancer depends upon the elimination of the root of the disease. At the Fuda Cancer Hospital, all treatment programs are designed for each patient individually and based on the holistic approach. Each type of cancer has certain common features. At the same time, every patient has his/her individual condition to consider. However, what these diseases all have in common is the impairment of the body's natural mechanisms of regulation, repair and defense.
In cancer, the criteria of diagnosing and staging are the same for every patient. However, even if the histological diagnosis shows the same type of cancerous cell and the staging shows the same state of progression, every patient has his/her individual condition as a result from many different combinations of causal factors ranging from inherited constitution and disposition to lifestyle.
Cancer cells exist in every human body. However, not every newly produced cancer cell leads to a tumor, because the body possesses an immune surveillance, as part of the natural defense system. An intact immune system protects our bodies from the developing cancerous tumors.
It is very important that treatment for each patient with cancer not only takes into account the obvious signs and factors but also at deeper contributing causes and conditions which are unique for every individual.
At the Fuda Cancer Hospital, we not only focus on elimination of cancerous tissues (local therapy, such as cryosurgery, radiofrequency ablation [RFA], conventional surgery), but also emphasize the use of specialized procedures to detect causes and pre-conditions which are known to lead to cancer and the disease condition, and to repair or increase defensive functions of the individual patient (immunotherapy, gene therapy, anti-angiogenesis ).
