Awarded in gratitude for Dr. Kecheng Xu's (president and head doctor of Fuda Hospital Cancer Center) keynote speech regarding cancer and the advancements being made in the field of cancer treatment.

Awarded in March, 2007, this award recognized Fuda Hospital Cancer Center's significant contribution to the treatment of cancer. Using United States Food & Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) approved alternative therapies, Fuda Hospital Cancer Center achieved 70% survival rates for its stage IV cancer patients. This is an accomplishment that Fuda is extremely proud of, and gives hope to our researchers that survival rates can reach even higher in the future.

At the 35th Annual Conference of The Japan Society for Low Temperature Medicine, Dr. Kecheng Xu (president and head doctor of Fuda Hospital Cancer Center) was awarded the gold medal first prize for Dr. Xu's outstanding contribution towards the advancement of cryomedicine. As cryosurgery increasingly replaces traditional surgery methods, Fuda Hospital Cancer Center is leading the way with their experience in the technique. To date, Fuda Hospital has performed nearly 5,000 cryosurgery operations.

Dr. Lizhi Niu was awarded a prestigious recognition for his contribution to the treatment and research of lung cancer. Along with the award, Dr. Niu won a symbolic cash prize of 5,000 RMB. Dr. Niu later donated this cash prize to one of Fuda's low-income patients from the Philippines.
